What we collect

When you send a quote request we collect what you type into the form: usually your name, email address, phone number, town or ZIP code and details about the lights you want. When an installer contacts us we collect their business details and contact information.

Like most websites, our servers and security services record technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages visited.

How we use it

We use a homeowner’s quote request to pass it to installers who serve their area – that is the purpose of the form, and submitting it means we will share it with them. We use installer details to create, correct or remove listings and to reply about placements. We do not sell personal information.

The chat assistant

The chat box on this site is an AI assistant. What you type is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the answers, and a copy of each conversation is kept for up to 30 days to improve the assistant, with phone numbers and email addresses removed. The assistant does not send anything to installers on its own: a quote request goes out only when you press Send on the request card in the chat, and it is then handled like any other quote request. Please don’t type payment details, passwords or other sensitive information in the chat.

Business listings

Installer listings are built from information businesses publish on their own websites. Any business can ask us to correct or remove its listing through the installer page.

Cookies and measurement

We use Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, and actions such as clicks on an installer’s phone number or website, quote requests and use of the chat assistant. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives technical information such as your IP address, device and browser, which Google handles under its own privacy policy. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or the text of your messages to Google Analytics.

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits. It does not set cookies.

The site also uses cookies it needs to run, stay secure and stop spam, and our hosting and security providers (including Cloudflare) process technical information such as IP addresses to protect the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to handle the request and for our records, then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected].

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top.
